Remembrance Sunday 2021
Sunday 14th November, 10.55am
Our annual service of remembrance will be held at the village Cenotaph on Sunday 14th November at 10.55am.
The service will be lead by the Rev Patrick Senior of St. Peter’s Church and Rev Louise Dickinson, from the Baptist Church. The Deputy Lord Lieutenant Edward Ziff OBE, will be attending to lay a wreath on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen.
The local community groups of Brownies, Guides, Cubs and Beavers will be taking part in the service.
Refreshments will be served at the Meeting Hall following the service, plus there will be work on display based on WW1. This includes models, art and written work produced by the children of Gildersome and Birchfield Primary Schools. A display of brilliant work……..not to be missed!
Gildersome Brownies will be helping to keep their Brownie Promise by doing their best and serving their community. The girls have decorated and planted up 93 Remembrance pots. Each pot bears a name from the list of 93 names inscribed on the Centotaph. The Brownies will also be selling 93 poppy buns at the Meeting Hall. This is in aid of the Poppy Appeal.
